Our Story

Founded in 2012, ember-jay emerged from a simple observation: many businesses wanted to reduce their energy costs and environmental impact but lacked access to genuinely independent, practical advice.

Too often, energy consultants pushed particular products or solutions that benefited their partnerships rather than their clients. We set out to change that by offering vendor-neutral guidance based solely on what works best for each organisation.

Over the past twelve years, we have supported manufacturers, logistics companies, office complexes, and public sector organisations in making informed decisions about their energy infrastructure and consumption patterns.

What Guides Our Work

Independence

We maintain no commercial relationships with equipment suppliers or energy providers. Our recommendations are shaped entirely by your circumstances and objectives.

Transparency

Every projection we share comes with clear assumptions. We explain our methodology so you can evaluate our findings with confidence.

Practicality

Theoretical savings mean nothing if implementation is impractical. We focus on solutions that work within your operational constraints and budget realities.

Experienced Professionals, Local Focus

Our consultants bring backgrounds in mechanical engineering, building services, energy management, and environmental science. Several hold Chartered status with relevant professional bodies.

Being based in Manchester means we understand the specific challenges facing businesses in the North West, from the climate considerations affecting building performance to the infrastructure realities shaping renewable options.

We work collaboratively with your facilities teams, helping them build internal capability alongside our engagement rather than creating dependency on external expertise.
